qrody.com works without signup: the anonymous generator on the home page creates unlimited QR codes — free, no account. For three use cases you do need a qrody account:
1. Reusable codes
With an account you can create dynamic QR codes. A dynamic code lives under a short qrody redirect (https://qrody.com/r/ab12cd); the actual target URL sits in our database and is editable any time — no reprint needed.
Use cases:
- A menu that changes seasonally
- An event code that points at the signup before the event, the recording afterwards
- A business card whose phone number changes when you switch jobs

2. Scan analytics
Logged-in users see scan counts per dynamic code — and qrody auto-notifies you at 10, 100, 1,000 scans. The simplest form of campaign success-tracking: you know whether a poster is read at all.
Geo and device breakdowns ship with Pro tiers (see Change plan).
3. Stack pro options
With an account you can stack frame + logo + custom colors + highest error correction in any combination. The anonymous generator exposes those pro options individually but caps the stack at three at once — see Pro options explained.
What stays free anonymously?
- QR codes from URL, text, vCard, Wi-Fi, SMS, email, geo, file link
- Download as PNG, SVG, PDF
- Up to three pro options stacked (e.g. logo + color + frame)
- A small qrody watermark in the corner — good for us, acceptable for most use cases
What does an account cost?
Tier 1 (Free) is free. You can create dynamic codes (limited active count), see your scan analytics, download codes without the watermark. Pro tiers raise limits, unlock geo-tracking, multi-seat and password protection. Details on the Change plan page.
Privacy
We hash scanner IPs with a salt; the hash is not reversible (see GDPR note). We do not sell scan data — that would violate §9 of our business model.
