A URL QR code sends the scanner straight to your website. It is the most common type and works with every phone camera without extra setup.
Steps
- Open the dashboard and click New code.
- Select the URL tab (it is the default).
- Enter the target URL including
https://. - Adjust the foreground and background colours — mind the contrast.
- Click Create code — you land back on the code list automatically.
Static or dynamic?
On the free tier your code starts out static. That means the target URL is baked into the QR matrix and cannot change later — if the page moves you must print a new code.
On paid tiers you can promote the code to dynamic from the list. We mint a short redirect link whose target you can change any time in the dashboard — no reprint needed.
Common mistakes
http://instead ofhttps://— modern scanners dislike plain HTTP, Chrome shows warnings. Alwayshttps.- Very long URLs — past ~200 characters the matrix gets so dense that phone cameras fail to scan in low light. Use dynamic mode for long links.
